The day, of course, started with the dress.

Shannon's sister and maid of honor is working for the Peace Corps in Turkmenistan, and brought this charm to pin under her dress for good luck.

I was so excited when I heard Shannon was willing to go outside in the snow and slush in her dress! It was so worth it!

Waiting for the big moment to arrive, Juvenal spoke to his mother by phone and Shannon grabbed a bite to eat...

Close family and friends gathered to witness Shannon and Juvenal exchange their own written words of love and traditional vows both in English and Spanish.

I can't remember what was being said here, but I love Shannon's face!

Then it was time to head to the reception! It was such a beautiful, intimate, candlelit dinner. And the food was great too!

Shannon and Juvenal's dads both gave a little toast. I thought it was so sweet that Juvenal's dad wanted to toast them, even though he knew no one could understand his Spanish. Juvenal and Shannon understood and that was good enough for him.

Then it was outside for a sparkler exit in the falling snow.
