Ashley's Baby Shower

Two weeks ago, Cass hosted us at her house for Ashley's baby shower. We had such a good time and we can't wait for the babies to get here (yes, babies...twin girls!!)!

Yummy mini cheesecakes.

Ashley's Baby Shower

Can you believe this girl is carrying two babies?! She doesn't look it at all! Almost all of our ribbons were way too long, like Grandma's.

And this is Cass's reaction to us all saying the hostess cheated on the size of the belly!

The babies are due on Valentine's Day but it looks like they may be coming sometime next month. You can bet Cass and I will be babysitting (and photographing) them soon. I'm sure they will be multiple blog stars!

Last Day of Harvest

I'm finally getting close to being caught up on blogging. And just in time because I'm shooting a wedding with Cass and Blaise tomorrow!

December 5th was the last day of harvest, and it felt like such a long time coming. Oscar and I rode back on the four-wheeler to get some shots of the last field of the fall.

And what it looks like from the inside...

This is what Oscar and I did while Norm and Rodney were concentrating on not crashing the six-figure equipment:

In the picture on the right you can see the corn reel. This is added to the combine to help pull in the corn that has gone down from wind (some more farming knowledge for you Cass!).

Just after this Rodney had to leave the field to pick Tiff and Matt up at the airport at the end of their honeymoon. This was the first time in his 33 or so years of farming that Rodney hasn't finished the harvest himself. He told Norm to really ponder that last ear of corn and how much work it took this year. Norm said as he was creeping up on the last few cornstalks in the combine (can you picture this?!) there were two stalks still standing and finally one fell first. Another successful harvest complete!
