Wedding: Brian and Sarah

June 27th I was Cassandra’s second shooter at Brian and Sarah’s wedding in Franklin. It was a beautiful day (although HOT), and we had a gorgeous, fun, creative couple to work with. Their family and friends were awesome and made us feel so welcome. Cass did a great job, and I had a blast as a second shooter. If you haven’t already, check out her pictures here.

The girls got ready in the theatre room in Franklin’s Cultural Arts & Recreation Center. One of Sarah’s bridesmaids is a makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics in Chicago and she did all the girls’ eye makeup. This is one of my favorite parts of shooting a wedding!

It was a team effort to get Sarah into her dress and get the back of it laced up. She was hilarious and wanted a picture of her always-helpful bridesmaids removing her excess deoderant. =)

We went outside to find some shade to do the girls’ portraits. They were cracking up at all of the cars driving by honking and yelling “Happy Wedding!”…so they decided to start pointing and staring back. =)

Our time with the guys was limited but we did manage to grab a few shots of them getting ready, Brian getting his boutonniere pinned on by Sarah’s step-mom, and the ushers getting some last-minute advice from her dad. Then we drug the boys outside for a few quick shots in the shade. Cass rocked it out in the few minutes we had!

The ceremony itself was in the rose garden in Province Park and it was short and sweet. They had the cutest little ring bearers and flower girl, a butterfly release, and flutists. How cool!

Here are a couple of my favorite portraits after the ceremony. When it was Brian’s grandpa’s turn for a picture, he was telling them how proud he was of them and how he was so happy for them, and he couldn’t stop talking even to smile for a picture. I love that! Oh, and the flower girl said to Sarah, "Sarah, aren't you soooo happy you got a new ring??". =)

Brian and Sarah were soooo smart to plan a cocktail hour for their guests so we had over an hour to take portraits of just the two of them. We went all over the grounds and got a ton of neat shots. It was super hot and I’m sure they were starving, but they were such troopers and were game for all of it…even sitting on nasty railroad tracks in a white bridal gown! And some of the fun poses were their ideas. I love creative couples!!

The reception was held inside the beautiful Beeson Hall in the Cultural Arts & Recreation Center. The wedding cake was gorgeous…and check out that awesome groom’s cake that looks like a Boston Red Sox baseball cap!! The DJ got everyone moving with the bride’s favorite, Britney Spears, and played some classic music to get Brian’s 75-year-old grandpa out on the floor shaking it!
