1. A week of peace and quiet (and no TV!) to get a lot of cleaning and scrapbooking done (that's a little sneak peak at a page in progress above).
2. A husband who calls every night when he’s traveling.
3. A tow truck that comes when called in the middle of the night when two Indiana boys are stranded on the side of a Mississippi highway.
4. The financial responsibility that means our credit card has very little on it so my husband can charge a week in a Mississippi hotel room, a tow truck, and a $1000 truck repair bill without worry.
5. An email penpal who keeps me entertained and usually gives me a good chuckle or two at work every day (thanks Cass!)
6. A crazy week at work that made this week fly by!
7. Ali Edwards’ blog – it is overflowing with inspiration.
8. This photography hobby that has, quite literally, taken over my daily life…but I love it!
9. Flip flops...summer is coming!!
10. The tickets to see Dave Ramsey live in Indy in October that I got for Cass and I last week…I can’t wait!!
Speaking of Dave Ramsey, Wednesday I found out that his Town Hall for Hope was available to watch free on hulu.com. Click here to watch it, or click here for the rest of his shows available on Hulu. Something he said during the Town Hall for Hope really struck me as truth. He was asked if he thought that our economy is going through our generation's Great Depression. "I hope that this is this generation's Great Depression. In the sense that, the children of the Great Depression were permanently changed and were more responsible with money from then on. So in that sense, I hope it is." I feel like I've been permanently changed by what's been going on with our economy for the last year. This is the first time I can remember where I or a member of my close family wondered how much longer we'd have a job. That's scary, and I think that's a feeling you don't forget. I remember when I was a little girl seeing bags and bags of sugar in my great grandma's pantry. At the time I just thought it was because she was batty, but now I know it was because she grew up during the Great Depression, and she was changed forever because of it. So, those of you that read this blog that haven't listened to Dave's radio show (it streams live on his website every weekday from 2-5pm EST), check out his Town Hall for Hope. He's a little crazy now and then, but his message is one that most of the country could stand hearing, now more than ever. Okay, I'll get down off my soapbox now. :)
Have a good Friday!!
