Book Review: Face of Betrayal by Lis Wiehl & April Hentry

I've finally finished reading the second book I requested to review, Face of Betrayal by Lis Wiehl and April Henry. This book came from Thomas Nelson Publishers. If you'd like a free book in exchange for your review, click here.

At long last, here is my review:

Face of Betrayal is a political suspense novel about the disappearance of 17-year-old Senate Page Katie Converse, who mysteriously goes missing while home from Washington, D.C. on Christmas break. The investigation begins with theories of kidnapping or suicide, and quickly turns into a murder investigation when Katie’s not-so-anonymous blog provides clues that link her romantically to a Senator.

The story also delves into the three main characters who are independent women with strong friendships: no-nonsense Federal Prosecutor Allison Pierce, tough FBI Agent Nicole Hedges, and up-and-coming TV reporter Cassidy Shaw.

I very rarely read any suspense, so I was a little leery about reading this, but Lis Wiehl and April Henry did a great job drawing readers into the story and providing plenty of twists and turns that you don’t see coming. It was a very easy read and makes you want to keep reading through to the end. I was slightly disappointed in the level of personal character development in the three women investigating the case, but all-in-all this is a great book. I would recommend it to anyone, although it does seem to be geared more toward a female audience.
